When Is a Topic Closed?
A Topic conversation can be closed in two ways: manually by the teacher or automatically after a period of inactivity. Once closed, the conversation moves from the “New and Open” tab to the “Closed” tab.
Closed by the Teacher
The teacher can choose to close the conversation manually at any time. Once closed:
No new messages can be sent in that Topic.
The conversation remains visible to you under the “Closed” tab.
Note: A closed Topic cannot be reopened. If you need to get in touch again, you’ll need to start a new Topic.
Automatically Closed
A Topic will be automatically closed after four weeks of inactivity. This means no messages or files have been exchanged during that period.
You’ll receive a warning notification two weeks before the Topic is set to close. The message will show you exactly how many days the Topic will remain open.
Tip: If you send a new message before the deadline, the inactivity timer resets and the conversation stays active.
