Not receiving notifications in Kwieb?

Some parents or guardians report not receiving notifications from Kwieb. This article provides common solutions to help resolve notification issues.


Which type of notification are you missing?

  • I’m not receiving push notifications

  • I’m not receiving email notifications

  • I’m not receiving in-app notifications

  • I don’t see badge notifications


I’m not receiving push notifications

Here are common reasons and solutions:

  • Is the Kwieb app installed as an app? Push notifications only work if you installed Kwieb via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Download the Kwieb app

  • Are you using the latest version of the Kwieb app? We regularly release updates. Check the latest version here.

  • Did you allow push notifications during setup? If you selected "No" when asked to allow notifications, you won’t receive any—regardless of your in-app settings. You can change this later in your device settings: Notification settings on your phone

  • Are you logged in to the Kwieb app? If you're logged out (seeing the login screen), you won’t receive push notifications.

  • Are your push settings in Kwieb correct? You need to enable push notifications for each message category. Adjust your settings here (Dutch)

  • Using an Android phone? Some Android brands (Samsung, Huawei, Sony, etc.) limit background app activity to save battery. This may block push notifications. Go to your phone’s battery settings, find Kwieb, and disable battery optimization for it. Settings may vary by device—contact support@ziber.nl if you need help.

  • Have you recently switched to a new phone? If you transferred your apps from your old device, push registration might not carry over properly. Try logging out and back in on the new device.


I’m not receiving email notifications

  • Are your Kwieb settings correct? Make sure email notifications are enabled for each category. Set your email preferences

  • Are you using the correct email address? Check your profile settings to ensure your own email is listed (not your partner's, for example).

  • Check your spam folder Sometimes emails are sent successfully but end up in your spam/junk folder.


I’m not receiving in-app notifications

In-app notifications (in the Notifications overview) cannot be turned off. If your school hasn’t posted anything, there will be no notifications.
