What types of notifications are there in Kwieb?

When someone from the school sends a message or activity to Kwieb that’s relevant to your child, you’ll receive a notification. These notifications let you know there’s something new in Kwieb—keeping you up to date with everything that has happened since you last opened the app.

There are four types of notifications in Kwieb:

1. App notification

2. Badge notification

3. Push notification

4. Email notification

Each type is explained below so you know what to expect.

1. App Notification

These are notifications found within the Kwieb app under the Notifications section.

• To view them, tap the menu icon (top right) in Kwieb and choose Notifications.

• All notifications you've received so far will be listed here.

• Unread notifications are marked with the label “new”.

• Tapping a notification will take you directly to the relevant item (e.g. a message or activity).

💡 Tip: Once you visit the Notifications screen, all messages will be marked as read, and the badge count will reset to 0.

2. Badge Notification

If you have unread app notifications, a red badge will appear on the Kwieb app icon on your phone, indicating that there’s something new to see.

💡 Tip: If the badge number keeps increasing, go to the Notifications section (see step 1) and all messages will be marked as read, resetting the badge to 0.

3. Push Notification

You can optionally enable push notifications to receive alerts on your phone when a new app notification arrives. This helps you stay informed in real-time.

4. Email Notification

You can also choose to receive app notifications via email. This ensures you’re notified even if you haven’t opened the Kwieb app recently.

Emergency Notification

Finally, there’s the Emergency Notification. This is a combination of:

• App notification

• Push notification

• Email notification

Unlike other notifications, emergency alerts cannot be turned off by parents. The school can send these when they need to communicate important information urgently—especially at the last moment.
