Requesting access to your (or your child's) data at Ziber
As a parent, if you would like to know what personal data from the school is stored by Ziber, you have the right to request access to that information. This is part of your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For more information, see the Dutch Data Protection Authority’s website: Right of access – Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens
How do I exercise my right of access?
To exercise your right of access, the GDPR states that you must submit your request to the Data Controller—in this case, the school. The school is responsible for processing your (or your child’s) personal data and must handle your request accordingly.
You can find a sample access request letter here: Download example letter – Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens
Once your request is received, the school will contact the relevant Data Processor(s)—such as Ziber or other parties—and ask them to provide the requested information. The processor will supply the data to the school, which will then deliver the information to you.
Important
You cannot submit an access request directly to Ziber, as Ziber is a Data Processor. All access requests must be submitted through your educational institution, which acts as the Data Controller and will coordinate with the appropriate processor(s).
