Hide your child’s name in Kwieb
Kwieb is a parent app designed for the school community. Parents use Kwieb to receive school updates and interact with other parents—for example, through signup lists or by commenting on group posts.
In your child’s group, you can often see other parents and the children they are linked to. This is helpful because many parents recognize the names of classmates, but not the names of their parents. To make that connection, Kwieb displays “parent of [child’s name].”
If you prefer not to share your child’s name with other parents, you can change this setting.
How to hide your child’s name
Open the Kwieb app.
Tap your profile photo/initials (top left).
Tap the child whose privacy settings you want to change.
On the child’s profile page, tap “Display”.
Select “Hidden” to anonymize your child’s profile.
You will now see privacy options for your child. Choose how you want their name to appear to other parents in Kwieb:
Visible – their name will be shown
Hidden – their name will be anonymous to other parents
You can change this setting at any time.
What happens when your child’s name is hidden?
Other parents will see “parent of hidden” under your name.
Your child will not appear on the birthday calendar (if your school uses it on school TV).
If both parents have different settings for the child, “Hidden” will take priority.
⚠️ Important: Hiding your child’s name only affects visibility for other parents in the Kwieb app. The school team can still see your child’s full name.
💡 Tip: Coordinate with your partner if you want consistent privacy settings for your child.
